Young, Hughes Placed on DL

The Mets have placed RHP Chris Young on the 15-day disabled list with right biceps tendinitis.  The move is retroactive to last Monday, meaning that he would be eligible to return on April 26.  Young has a long history of injuries, and only made four starts last year for the Padres.  To replace him on the roster, the Mets have recalled LHP Pat Misch from Buffalo.  RHP Dillon Gee is expected to be recalled tomorrow to replace Young in the rotation and Misch - who is out of options - will likely be designated for assignment after only one day on the roster.  But with a double header scheduled for today the Mets want as many healthy pitchers as possible.

The Yankees have placed RHP Phil Hughes on the 15-day disabled list with a "tired arm."  To replace him on the roster, the Yankees have recalled RHP Lance Pendleton, a reliever, from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.  Long reliever RHP Bartolo Colon will replace Hughes in the rotation.  In addition, the Yankees have transferred LHP Pedro Feliciano from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.  He is set to undergo left shoulder surgery in what could be a career-ending injury.  The move also removes Feliciano from the 40-man roster.
