The Red Sox have placed RHP Matt Albers on the 15-day disabled list with a sore right lat. The move is retroactive to April 6. To replace him on the roster the Red Sox activated LHP Felix Doubront from the disabled list on April 8. To add another right-handed arm to the bullpen, the Red Sox recalled RHP Alfredo Aceves from Pawtucket and designated LHP Dennys Reyes for assignment. In other Red Sox news, C Mark Wagner, who was designated for assignment, cleared waivers and was outrighted to Pawtucket on April 6.
The Mets made multiple roster changes yesterday. C Ronny Paulino, who was suspended to start the season, saw his suspension come to an end and was placed on the 15-day disabled list with anemia. Also, RHP Blaine Boyer was designated for assignment and RHP Ryota Igarashi had his contract purchased from Buffalo to replace him on the roster. Because the Mets' bullpen has been taxed early on, RF Lucas Duda was optioned to Buffalo and RHP Jason Isringhausen had his contract purchased. Isringhausen had been in extended Spring Training, but he was officially on Brooklyn's roster. In addition, RHP Manny Acosta, who was designated for assignment, cleared waivers and was assigned to Buffalo. LHP Taylor Tankersly and C Raul Chavez, both non-roster invitees who were cut in Spring Training, were retained and assigned to Buffalo.
The Yankees have signed RHP Carlos Silva to a Minor League contract. He has not been assigned yet, but he's probably headed for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
