RHP Boof Bonser is set to undergo right shoulder surgery and will likely miss the remainder of the season. Bonser was pitching for the Buffalo Bisons and was one of New York's reserve options for starting pitching. This comes as a blow to the Mets who, 13 games into the season, have already been forced to dip beyond their primary five starters.
LHP Pedro Feliciano, who has been on the disabled list all season, is set to undergo left shoulder surgery. Feliciano's injury is identical to the one suffered by former and current teammates LHP Johan Santana and RHP Mark Prior as well as former Yankee RHP Chien-Ming Wang. He is likely out for the season and his career is in jeopardy. LHP Manny Banuelos and RHP Dellin Betances, both pitching for the Trenton Thunder, have been placed on the disabled list with blisters on their throwing hands. C Gary Sanchez, playing for the Charleston RiverDogs, has been placed on the disabled list with an abdominal injury.
